Information We Collect
Account Information
- Email address: Used for account creation, authentication, and account recovery
- User ID: A unique identifier generated when you create an account
Habit Data
When you use HabitApp, we collect information about the habits you track:
- Habit names and descriptions you create
- Custom emoji and color preferences for your habits
- Frequency settings (daily, specific days, times per week/month)
- Reminder times you configure
- Target goals (e.g., number of completions per day)
Usage Data
- Habit completion events: Timestamps of when you mark habits as complete
- Skipped days: Records of days you intentionally skip habits
- App preferences: Settings like your preferred week start day (Monday/Sunday)
NFC Data
If you use the NFC feature to log habits:
- NFC tag identifiers: Unique IDs of NFC tags you pair with habits
- Tag-to-habit bindings: Which habits are associated with which NFC tags
Sharing Data
If you use the habit sharing feature:
- Share codes: Temporary codes generated to share habits with others
- Share expiration dates: When shared access expires
How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Create and manage your account
- Store and sync your habits across devices
- Track your habit completion progress
- Send you reminders at times you configure
- Enable NFC-based habit logging
- Allow you to share habits with others
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a trusted cloud database provider. We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
- Secure authentication tokens
- Row-level security policies ensuring you can only access your own data
Some data is also stored locally on your device using secure storage to enable offline functionality.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.
Your data may be shared only in the following circumstances:
- With your consent: When you explicitly choose to share habits with others
- Service providers: With Supabase for data storage and authentication (subject to their privacy policy)
- Legal requirements: If required by law or to protect our legal rights
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: View all data associated with your account within the app
- Correction: Update or modify your habits and preferences at any time
- Deletion: Delete individual habits or your entire account
- Export: Your data is accessible through the app interface
Account Deletion
You can delete your account and all associated data in either of two ways:
- In the app (immediate): Open Settings → Account → Delete Account, then confirm. Your account and all associated data (habits, logs, NFC tag bindings, preferences) are permanently removed immediately.
- By email: Contact us at the email address below. We will permanently delete all your data from our servers within 30 days.
Children's Privacy
HabitApp is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
Third-Party Services
HabitApp uses the following third-party services:
- Supabase: For authentication and data storage (Supabase Privacy Policy)
- Expo: For app updates and notifications (Expo Privacy Policy)
